Testing

TerraNova

Beginning with the 2004-2005 school year, the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) replaced the Stanford Achievement Test, 9th Edition (SAT9) with the CTB/McGraw-Hill TerraNova. While both assessments are norm-referenced, only the Terra Nova is more closely aligned with ADE educational standards in mathematics, reading and writing. Consequently, results of the TerraNova are more meaningful and useful to Arizona children, teachers, and parents. The TerraNova is administered to all 9th grade students in April.
