SAT - Scholastic Achievement Test

The SAT, by College Board, changed in March 2005. There are three sections on the new SAT; mathematics, critical reading, and writing. Each section of the SAT is scored on a scale of 200-800. The writing section will contain two subscores. The new "perfect" score is 2400 instead of 1600. The new test is 45 minutes longer than the old test (3 hours and 45 minutes instead of 3 hours). The SAT is typically taken by high school juniors and seniors. It is administered seven times a year.
