ASVAB - Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery

The ASVAB is a nationally-normed, multi-aptitude test battery that has been provided to high schools and post-secondary schools since 1968.

The ASVAB, sponsored by the Department of Defense, is a three-hour, multi-aptitude, multiple-choice exam battery. Your ASVAB results provide scores for each of the individual ten subjects tested, as well as three academic composite scores; Verbal, Math, and Academic Ability; and two career exploration composite scores. While the ASVAB is best known for its use in the military recruitment process, it is a useful tool for all students as it measures the test taker’s aptitude for civilian or military occupations, further education at a university, community college, or vocational institution.
