Engineering Math
This course is designed to
introduce students to the field of engineering through an investigation of
various mathematical concepts. Students will explore how engineers use math,
technology, and the problem solving process to benefit people. Topics include
trigonometric functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, complex
numbers, and vectors, as well as discussions on various engineering disciplines
and case studies. The course also explores math as used in aspects of computer
and electrical engineering and in astronautics and aerospace engineering.
Students will complete two original design projects in the course of the
semester.
Field Trip
We will be touring the ASU Polytechnic Campus on Friday, February 20, 2009. The tour will include visiting classrooms, laboratories, and other facilities around the campus.
