Mrs. Ellis has been
with the district 30 years. She was
a Social Studies teacher for 25 years. During that time, she was awarded Arizona’s National
History Day’s teacher of the year in 1985. Nine of the 15 years with NHD,
students from CGUHS won the state competition and went to Washington DC
to compete.
More recently, she has
served in the Learning
Center as a Social
Studies teacher, proofreader and attempts to problem solve computer and
typing problems and other student needs.
Mrs. Ellis is a life
long resident of Arizona. She got her college degree at Northern Arizona
University in Flagstaff. Her degree includes American history
and political science education. She loves to travel and to watch
baseball. She is married and has two grown children.
Currently, she is also
the Key Club advisor. Key Club meets
in the Olas Ki each
first and third Fridays of the month.
